On 6th Nov 2018, the Thailand tourism ministry has decided to waive off the visa  on arrival fees for next two months from 1st December 2018 to 13th January 2019 30th April 2019 to boost up tourism. थाईलैंड यात्रा के तीसरे दिन हम वापस बस पकड़ पटाया से बैंकाक आ गए। बैंकाक में हमें सिर्फ दो दिनों के लिए ही रुकना था लेकिन इतने बड़े शहर के लिए सिर्फ 2 दिन बिल्कुल नाकाफी थे। फिर भी हमारी कोशिश रही कि कम से कम मुख्य स्मारक देख लिए जाएं। बैंकाक सफारी वर्ल्ड जो दुनिया के सबसे बड़े चिड़ियाघरों में गिना जाता है, उसके लिए एक पूरा दिन चाहिए था, वहां जाना हमारा तय भी था, इस कारण बैंकाक के बाकी स्थलों को देखने के लिये हमारे पास सिर्फ 1 दिन ही था।                                   तो सुबह 10-11 बजे के करीब हम बैंकाक के सियाम इलाके के होटल ए वन आ पहुँचे जिसकी ऑनलाइन  बुकिंग हमने मेक माय ट्रिप से करीब अठारह सौ रु के आस पास की थी, फ्री ब्रेकफास्ट के साथ। वैसे अगर आप अकेले हों तो होस्टल भी ले सकते हैं जिसमें फ्री ब्रेकफास्ट भी मिल जाता है, चार-पांच सौ रु में एक बेड का किराया होता है। हम तीन थे, इस कारण हमने होटल ही लेना ठीक समझा था।                       ...

बैंकाक से पटाया तय करने और होटल तक पहुंचने में ही आधा दिन निकलने के बाद उस दिन बची थी सिर्फ शाम। सुना था कि पटाया कभी न सोने वाला एक शहर है, जहां रात भर चकाचौंध रहती है, गाड़ियाँ, टुकटुक...का रात भर सड़कों पर दौड़ना, रातभर होटलों के रिसेप्शन काउंटर का खुला रहना...डिस्को...पार्टी...इन सबके लिए पटाया को जाना जाता है।                             

                      15 मार्च 2018: थाईलैंड की धरती पर आज हमारी ज़िंदगी का पहला कदम था और हम डॉन मुएंग एयरपोर्ट से वीजा ऑन अराइवल प्राप्त कर बाहर निकल रहे थे। वीजा प्राप्त करने में एक घंटे लाइन में लगना पड़ा, इसके बाद इमीग्रेशन काउंटर पर तो जरा भी भीड़ नहीं थी। उन्होंने सिर्फ वेबकेम से हमारा फोटो लिया और बाहर जाने दिया। कार्यक्रम के मुताबिक आज ही हमें पटाया प्रस्थान करना था जिसके लिए बैंकाक के मोर्चित बस स्टैंड या सेंट्रल बस स्टैंड से गाड़ी मिलती है। डॉन मुएंग एयरपोर्ट के गेट नम्बर 6 से बाहर निकलने पर हमनें स्थानीय थाई नागरिकों को लाइन में खड़े होकर बस का इंतज़ार करते पाया। बस में चढ़ने के लिए भी ऐसा अनुशासन! मोर्चित जाने के लिए हमें A1 नामक बस में चढ़ना था, एक A1 बस रुकी, झट से हम तीनों उसमें चढ़ गए।
